The 8 Days Climbing Kilimanjaro Lemosho Route is one of the most beautiful and successful ways to reach Africa’s highest peak. Detail Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival in Moshi
Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO). A private transfer will take you to your hotel in Moshi for overnight stay. Evening pre-climb briefing and equipment check with your guides.
Day 02: Londorossi Gate – Lemosho Forest Camp
After registration at Londorossi Gate, drive to Lemosho trailhead and trek through lush rainforest to Lemosho Forest Camp (2,650m). [2–3 hours walking, 6km]
Day 03: Lemosho Forest – Shira One Camp
Climb steadily through moorland to reach the rim of Shira Plateau and camp at Shira One (3,550m). [6–7 hours walking, 8km]
Day 04: Shira Plateau – Shira Hut
Easy walk to explore Shira Plateau, including Shira Cathedral, then continue to Shira Hut (3,840m). Stunning views of Mt. Meru and Kibo. [4–5 hours walking, 8km]
Day 05: Shira Hut – Lava Tower – Barranco Valley
Trek across lava ridges to Lava Tower (4,550m) for acclimatization, then descend to Barranco Valley (3,900m). [5–7 hours walking, 11km]
Day 06: Barranco – Karanga Camp
Climb the Barranco Wall and traverse ridges with views of the Southern Icefields before camping at Karanga (4,000m). [4–5 hours walking, 5km]
Day 07: Karanga – Barafu Camp
Steep climb on scree to Barafu Camp (4,600m). Rest and prepare for summit night. [3–4 hours walking, 4km]
Day 08: Barafu – Uhuru Peak – Mweka Camp
Midnight ascent to Stella Point (5,735m), then to Uhuru Peak (5,895m). Descend to Barafu, then further down to Mweka Camp (3,100m). [11–15 hours walking, 13km]
Day 09: Mweka Camp – Mweka Gate – Moshi
Descend through rainforest to Mweka Gate (1,650m), then transfer back to Moshi for overnight. [4–6 hours walking, 10km]
Day 10: Departure
Transfer back to Kilimanjaro International Airport for departure, or extend your trip with a safari.
