Detail Itinerary
Day 01: Momella Gate – Miriakamba Hut (2,514m)
After breakfast, drive to Arusha National Park and complete registration at Momella Gate. Begin your trek through lush montane forest, passing waterfalls and open grasslands where giraffes, warthogs, and buffalos roam. Enjoy a picnic lunch and continue to Miriakamba Hut for dinner and overnight.
Day 02: Miriakamba Hut – Saddle Hut (3,570m)
After breakfast, the trail climbs steeply through the forest into the alpine zone. Along the way, enjoy views of the Meru Crater and the Ash Cone. Arrive at Saddle Hut for lunch and rest. In the afternoon, take an acclimatization hike to Little Meru (3,820m) for a stunning sunset view before descending back to Saddle Hut for dinner and overnight.
Day 03: Saddle Hut – Socialist Peak (4,566m) – Miriakamba Hut
Wake up early around 2:00 am for the summit attempt. Ascend via Rhino Point (3,800m) and Cobra Point (4,350m) to Socialist Peak (4,566m) in time for an incredible sunrise over Mount Kilimanjaro. After celebrating at the summit, descend carefully back to Saddle Hut for brunch, then continue down to Miriakamba Hut for overnight.
Day 04: Miriakamba Hut – Momella Gate – Arusha
After breakfast, descend through the lower forest and open grassland, where you may spot wildlife such as colobus monkeys and antelope. Arrive at Momella Gate for check-out and receive your summit certificate. A vehicle will be waiting to transfer you back to your hotel in Arusha or Moshi.
